Radon

Through my involvement with Tackle Radon, I learned about radon gas and realized how dangerous it is, so I tested our home. I'm not taking any chances when it comes to my family's lung health.

My Lung Story

"I became involved with Lung Sask as the professional football player Saskatchewan ambassador for the Tackle Radon campaign. Tackle Radon is a campaign that challenges Saskatchewan and Manitoba to ‘tackle radon’ by testing their home for radon. Adam Bighill represents Manitoba residents and I represent Saskatchewan residents. We have encouraged over 2000 people to test for radon over the last two years and I challenge you to get in the game and test your home for radon too.

Through my involvement with Tackle Radon, I learned about radon gas and realized how dangerous it is, so I tested my family and I tested our home. Our levels were below Health Canada's recommended guidelines, but I will continue to test my home every few years to ensure those levels continue to stay safe. I'm not taking any chances when it comes to my family's lung health. I hope you test your home for radon and if levels are high, take the recommended steps to lower them to protect your family as well.

The only way to know how much radon gas is in your home is to test for it, as you can't see, taste or smell it. For the health and safety of you, your children, family, the ones you love, please test your home for radon today."

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer which is why it is so critical to test for radon in your home.  All homes have some level of radon. The question is, how much? You can't see, taste, or smell radon. The only way to know how much radon is in your home is to test for it. Visit homeradontest.ca to order your radon test kit.
