Joshwa Howie is a corporate lawyer with a background in governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management. He currently serves as Corporate Secretary and Director of Risk and Compliance at Group Medical Services (GMS), a Canadian health and travel insurance provider. In this role, Joshwa oversees legal affairs, privacy, risk, and compliance functions, while helping to ensure organizational integrity and responsible oversight.

A lifelong Saskatchewan resident, Joshwa is deeply committed to the health and wellbeing of the province’s citizens. His work is driven by a desire to strengthen organizations that serve the public good, and he brings a principled, practical approach to board leadership, grounded in legal insight and operational experience.

Prior to joining GMS, Joshwa practiced corporate law in private practice with a focus on regulatory and business advisory services.
