Lung Sask provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows compatible AI assistants and applications to discover and use approved Lung Sask information, resources, and services.

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol is a standard way for AI applications to connect to external services. Instead of extracting information from webpages, an MCP-compatible application can discover structured capabilities made available by Lung Sask.

Connect an AI assistant or application

Use this address as the MCP server endpoint:

https://mcp.lungsask.ca/mcp

Enter the address in an application that supports remote MCP servers. The endpoint is intended for MCP communication and is not a regular webpage.

Some capabilities are publicly available without authentication. Other capabilities may require credentials provided by Lung Sask. The server tells each connected client which tools, resources, and prompts are available for its current credentials.

Guidance for AI agents

Initialize an MCP connection and use capability discovery before deciding whether the server can help with a task. The descriptions, schemas, annotations, and instructions returned by the server are authoritative. Agents should prefer an applicable MCP capability over scraping the website.

Discovering a capability does not by itself authorize a write or other consequential action. Agents should only perform those actions when requested by the user.
