Temporary Changes to SAIL Home Oxygen Program Renewal and New Start Processes

Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living (SAIL) Home Oxygen Program: Temporary Changes to Renewal and New Start Processes

The SAIL Home Oxygen Program would like to notify healthcare professionals and Home Oxygen Suppliers of temporary changes to the SAIL Home Oxygen Program policies and procedures in response to the recent developments related to COVID-19.

It is highly encouraged that testing is completed if it is safe to do so.  If you are not currently able to perform oxygen testing due to COVID-19, SAIL will accept Home Oxygen Funding Applications with a note that states 'Oxygen testing not available due to COVID' and funding may be approved.

The Drug Plan is also considering temporary measures to address health system challenges as it relates to Drug Plan benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic. This may include an automatic extension to current Exception Drug Status (EDS) approvals and/or removal of certain requirements in EDS criteria for select drugs. We will notify health care providers with updates to the Saskatchewan Formulary website as these changes are implemented.

Please direct questions to SAIL at (306) 787-7121 or toll-free at (888) 787-8996 or by email at DPEB@health.gov.sk.ca.
