November Proclaimed Lung Month and Radon Action Month in Saskatchewan
The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed November as Lung Month and Radon Action Month, recognizing the importance of lung health and the need to take action to protect it.
At Lung Saskatchewan, our mission is to improve lung health one breath at a time. Lung Month is an opportunity to raise awareness of lung disease, recognize the people and partnerships working to improve lung health, and share resources that support people across our province.
Radon Action Month is also an important reminder to take action to protect our homes and families. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. You can’t see, taste or smell it, and testing is the only way to know how much is in your home.
Throughout November, we'll be sharing information, resources and opportunities to support lung health. These include our upcoming podcast, Clearing the Air: Radon Reduction and Healthier Homes, as well as the return of the Saskatchewan Quit Smoking Challenge, running November 16 to February 14. These are just some of the ways Saskatchewan residents can learn more and take action to improve lung health.
Thank you to the Honourable Jeremy Cockrill, Minister of Health for the Government of Saskatchewan, for recognizing the importance of lung health in our province.
