Lung Saskatchewan Advocates for Youth Protection from Nicotine Pouches

Nicotine pouches are increasingly part of the conversation around smoking cessation and access to nicotine products. But as conversations about access continue, it’s also important to consider what young people are seeing and how easily they can access these products.

A recent CTV News Regina article, National campaign calls for better access to nicotine pouches, looks at a national campaign calling for increased access to nicotine pouches for adults using them as a smoking cessation tool.

Lung Saskatchewan’s Health Promotion Manager, Bethany Verma, spoke with CTV News Regina about the importance of protecting youth from nicotine products and the potential for early nicotine exposure to lead to addiction.

Despite federal regulatory changes in 2024, nicotine pouch use among youth continues to be a concern. Lung Saskatchewan is advocating for youth protection to remain a priority as conversations around nicotine pouch access continue.
