The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan Seeks Volunteers for Board Position

The Lung Foundation of Saskatchewan (LFS) is currently seeking two volunteers to join its Board of Directors.

The LFS is a volunteer run foundation that is committed to improving respiratory health in the province by supporting organizations like Lung Saskatchewan. The Foundation was created in 2002, with the specific focus of collecting and managing an endowment fund, ensuring long­ term funding for lung health activities in Saskatchewan. Activities include investing in research, advocating for changes to protect lung health, and providing education and support to patients, caregivers and health care professionals. The mission is improving respiratory health in Saskatchewan.

The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:

  • Reside in Saskatchewan
  • Have a personal connection to lung health (but not required)
  • Previous not-for-profit board experience an asset (but not required)
  • Experience managing large scale investments (but not required)
  • Be willing to commit to a two-year term with option of 2 renewable terms
  • Be willing to work with the CEO, CFO and Executive Committee of the Board on financial matters of the Foundation, including review of quarterly income and expenses, investments, etc.
  • Commit to four board meetings per year (approximately 60-90 minutes each)
