Dr. Nathan Lachowsky
Dr. Nathan Lachowsky (he, him, his) is a settler researcher of Ukrainian and English descent. He is a Professor in the School of Public Health and Social Policy at the University of Victoria (UVic) and Associate Dean Research for the Faculty of Human and Social Development. Since 2017 he has served as the Research Director for the Community Based Research Centre (www.cbrc.net), which promotes the health of Indigenous Two-Spirit and all LGBTQ+ people through research and intervention development. Championing community-based approaches, he has conducted population health research with 2S/LGBTQ+ communities across Canada and Aotearoa New Zealand. He conducts interdisciplinary research within a social justice framework in order to achieve health equity for marginalized communities.
