The Power of Breathing - Breathing Retraining Utilizing the Bradcliff Method with Respiratory Therapist Donna Turner
Breathing is the most amazing tool we have to help us through life. Breathing is a tool we all have, one of such simplicity that its power is easily overlooked. This tool doesn’t cost a thing, is simple and available to everyone and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. It is, without a doubt, among the most effective antidotes to stress and a key component to wellbeing that we humans possess. Poor breathing patterns can trigger, exacerbate and perpetuate symptoms such as pain, anxiety, stress, digestive upset, fatigue, poor cognitive function and a multitude of other symptoms. By learning how to breathe properly, we can literally breathe our way to a better life and boost our health by learning simple breathing techniques. Awareness of our breathing patterns and muscular tension are the most powerful tools we have as individuals to control our thought patterns, our physiological state, our whole well-being. Through this webinar, we will explore how we can become more efficient breathers and maybe improve our lives along the way. When in doubt, breathe out!!
Meet the Presenter
Donna Turner received her bachelor of science from the University of Saskatchewan in 1983 and a diploma in Respiratory Therapy from SAIT in Calgary in 1986. She has worked in acute care, home oxygen and today she works at the Cooperative Health Centre in Prince Albert, SK. Donna has obtained her Certified Asthma Educator (CAE) designation in 1999 and Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) in 2006. She taught the RespTrec Educator programs for the Lung Association of Saskatchewan from 2007 – 2017. In 2017 she became a Bradcliff Method Practitioner.
