Submitted by bjohnston on 3 February 2006

'Helping our residents to breathe easier' is the mission of The Lung Association of Saskatchewan. Our congratulations to the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina for endorsing our mission with their decision to go smoke free in both public areas as well as private hotel rooms.

"This health stance is invaluable for both guests of the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan and the staff that are employed by this establishment," says Paul Van Loon, Vice President of Health Education for The Lung Association. "The next time you visit the Hotel, please consider thanking the management for promoting a smoke-free environment," he adds.

"One out of every three people in Saskatchewan will be affected by lung disease during their lifetime and tobacco, smoking and air quality issues play a significant role in this staggering statistic," says The Lung Association's President & CEO, Dr. Brian Graham, and this voluntary action by the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan is commendable

The Lung Association is committed to protecting the lung health of the people of Saskatchewan. With the generous support of the public and the help of our volunteers, we have seen many advances against lung disease and have developed programs and services for our residents. You will find The Lung Association, the premier source for respiratory health initiatives in the province, active in your community conducting programs on asthma, COPD and sleep apnea, providing training for health professionals, delivering health education in our schools, and facilitating patient support groups and lobbying for clean air.
