I have Latent TB, what does this mean? 

If you have been told you have Latent TB, this means you have been infected with TB at some point but have no TB symptoms and you are not infectious to others. Latent TB may become Active TB at any time, especially if you have a weakened immune system. Many people with Latent TB never develop Active TB. Are you at risk for TB


I have Active TB, what are my symptoms? 

Symptoms are the first thing used to help diagnose Active TB.  If you have these symptoms, or if you think you might have TB, see your doctor.  

The most common symptoms of Active TB are: 

  • A bad cough that lasts 3 weeks or more 
  • Fever 
  • Chills 
  • Night sweats 
  • Chest pain 
  • Coughing up blood or sputum 
  • Fatigue 
  • Weight loss 
  • Loss of appetite
