Pictured: Lung Association Staff, CEO and Board Chair with Volunteer Breathe Ambassadors Dear Friends of The Lung Association, What a year it has been! Thank-you for your continued and loyal support to improve lung health one breath at a time in our province. There are so many accomplishments to be proud of and initiatives that will have a lasting impact for many years to come. Thank-you! In 2018, six Saskatchewan research teams were each awarded $25,000 through the Ideas that Inspire grant program. These funds were provided by The Lung Association in partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation for a total of $150,000 investment in respiratory health research. With your support, our fundraising campaigns including the Breathe Strong and Breathe & Win raffles exceeded goals and provided crucial funds for practical support programs to help patients and their families living with lung disease. Working closely with our double lung transplant Breathe Ambassadors, plans are now in place to launch the Caring Breaths, financial assistance program in 2019. This program will help people with the burden of costs they have to bear when ill. The proceeds from all of our fundraising efforts also help fund continued investment in research that will lead to new discoveries on disease control and management. So please keep supporting where you can! On behalf of those we serve, thank-you for all that you do and continue to do to show your support to those living with lung disease. We wish you and your family a safe, happy, healthy holiday season. Sincerely, Susan Cron President & CEO, The Lung Association, Saskatchewan |
