The Lung Association, Saskatchewan is the first to bring the MegaBounce event to our province and EVERYONE is invited! MegaBounce is a 5K Run/Walk that is open to all levels of runners and walkers. No matter if you are a seasoned runner or just want to join the fun, this obstacle course is for you. MegaBounce is a fun family friendly 5K event with 9 massive inflatables along the course. We have no age restrictions, everyone can participate in this one of a kind event. However, we have a height restriction of 42" in order to participate without an adult. As summer winds down, many parents start gearing up for the school year which usually means buying school supplies and longer pants. But for parents of children with asthma, getting ready for school should also include taking steps to protect their children from the “September Spike” – the sharp rise in kids’ asthma symptoms that happens soon after school begins.

After meeting with administration and council for two years, the City of Prince Albert passed an Outdoor Smoke Free Public Spaces bylaw on August 7, 2018. While it isn’t as strong as we fought for, (9 metre buffer zone around playgrounds and sports fields instead of an all-out ban), it’s a great step for Prince Albert residents.

Spirometry experts in Saskatchewan are assisting with the revision of the American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society Technical Standards for Spirometry. In addition to updating requirements for spirometry equipment, analysis and reporting, changes intended to improve the patient experience are being planned. A patient survey has been designed to collect information about patient experiences, opinions and suggestions regarding spirometry. The survey is being conducted world-wide by the European Lung Foundation. It will be open until 21 September 2018 and is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
