Six teams, with expertise varying from medicine and clinical practice to computer science and veterinary medicine, have received funding from the Lung Association, Saskatchewan (LAS) and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) and to address respiratory health and well-being in the province. These grants have been awarded in support of the new Respiratory Research Centre (RRC) with the shared goal of “discovery for healthy breathing”. By investing in research we are able to reduce risk, discover cures, save lives and improve quality of life for all people in Saskatchewan living with lung disease.

The Lung Association, Saskatchewan hosted the inaugural Celebration of Impact Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 9th.  The celebration recognized extraordinary people that have made and continue to make a significant impact on lung health in Saskatchewan. We value the dedication and commitment of each and every one of our exceptional donors, volunteers and community partners.  Congratulations to all of the BREATHE Impact Award recipients and nominees. Thank you all for your precious gifts of time, talent and treasure.

The Saskatchewan Housing Corporation’s recent announcement to make all social housing units smoke-free later this summer is being praised by The Lung Association, Saskatchewan. Drifting smoke in multi-unit dwellings is a significant problem and health concern for many people in Saskatchewan.

On Friday, August 31 2018, the Lung Association, Saskatchewan is teaming up with RYDE YXE and The Saskatoon Fireworks Festival to host the 2nd  Breathe-911-Ryde event in Saskatoon. This is a fun event that will bring together families, friends and communities to show support to our Spin Off Volunteers who will be competing against each other in a fun way during the ride. There are four teams: Police, Fire Dept., Nurses & Doctors, our local  heroes who provide emergency services every day. Starting at 7pm and all the way through to the final challenge at 9pm with the top 24 fundraisers showcasing their spin skills. Save the date as this is an event you don’t want to miss.

Coming this September, a brand new event that is going to blow Saskatoon away. We are inflating our lungs and our 5K course and for all the right reasons. We are the first to bring the MegaBounce event to Saskatchewan! Mega Bounce is open to all levels of runners and walkers.
