"My stepdad, Rod, was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 57 and sadly passed away within two months of his diagnosis. I was diagnosed with lung cancer five years later, and that's when I connected the dots - we had both lived in the same home!

Through Lung Saskatchewan, I received a test kit and brought it to my childhood home. The new owners kindly agreed to place the kit in the house, and the results indicated high levels of radon."

"In October 2019, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I had no other risk factors that could have possibly led to the diagnosis since I had never smoked and hadn’t been exposed to any environmental factors known to cause lung cancer. It was at that point that they asked me if I had ever heard of radon.

The worst phone call was when I found out I had to do chemotherapy. I thought the cancer had spread and I couldn't promise my kids that I would be okay."

Jennifer May Celebrates 25 Years with Heartfelt Fundraiser

On September 26, 2023, Jennifer May celebrated 25 years in health promotion with a beautiful evening in Saskatoon, surrounded by 130 of her friends, family, and colleagues.

The celebration raised an impressive total of $15,475 towards two meaningful causes; Lung Saskatchewan, and to Dave Jones for an accessible and reliable vehicle. Donations are still being accepted.

Borrow a radon detector through Saskatoon Public Library

Saskatoon Public Library Launches Radon Lending Program

Lung Saskatchewan is excited to support Saskatoon Public Library in the launch of their radon lending program by providing them radon information to include in their kits, along with a special discount on long-term radon tests.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia.

Lung Saskatchewan works with a variety of communities in Saskatchewan and across Canada, investing in research, advocating for changes to protect lung health, and providing education and support to patients, caregivers, and health care professionals.

Our support groups are a platform for patients and caregivers to ask questions, share their stories, as well as provide emotional and moral support to one another.

Coordinated by Certified Respiratory Health Professionals from Lung Saskatchewan, we provide timely information and resources to guide you through tough times.

We offer eight support groups including:

Lung Helpline

Our Lung Helpline is a free, confidential lung information service, managed by Certified Respiratory Educators.

Educators are available to answer your questions about breathing and lung diseases Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
