Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors is seeking a Chief Executive Officer with an innovative and business-minded skill set to lead the organization in its mission of improving lung health one breath at a time.

The Lung Association of Saskatchewan has a long, rich history and is recognized as one of the most vital and successful health charities in the province. With its experienced and highly knowledgeable staff and vibrant culture,The Lung Association of Saskatchewan successfully offers many different services in its work to improve lung health and prevent lung disease. For people directly and indirectly affected by lung disease, the association provides education for health care professionals, health promotion, patient support programs, and research funding.

As CEO you will be involved in the development of long-range strategic plans, action plans and policies, and will be responsible for implementing and administrating policies once approved by the Board of Directors. While maintaining fiscal discipline, you will provide overall leadership on planning, implementation and evaluation of the association’s programs and activities. Collaboration with government on lung health initiatives, funding, and education is a priority to position the association for success. You will also represent the association in public forums and be accountable for building strong relationships with government and other key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in a relevant field from an accredited university and a minimum of 7-10 years in an executive management role. An MBA or post-graduate degree (MA or MSc) would be considered an asset;
  • Superior business and financial acumen;
  • Strong communications skills;
  • Significant government and stakeholder relations expertise;
  • Previous experience with fundraising and revenue generation; and
  • A proven track-record of leading experienced and highly knowledgeable professionals.

Knowledge of respiratory health and experience leading a charitable organization are considered strong assets. The values of integrity, honesty, compassion and respect are all qualities that are required by the association, its staff and its stakeholders.
